The Pathology Core Lab (PCL) is a core facility of the Center of Translational Pathology and administered by the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. We offer access to our core lab services to support both WCM and external investigators to enhance translational research.
The PCL provides expertise in a broad spectrum of morphologic studies required for interpretation of disease processes with variety of assays, including tissue processing, sectioning, histologic stains (both routine and specialized), immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, microscopic photography, morphometry and data analysis as well as project consultation. The PCL also provides statistical support for study design, data analysis, and publication writing. The utility of the PCL is grounded in its accessibility of archival and frozen material from within the Department.
By utilizing our services, researchers can expect improved access to the available tissue resources in the Department of Pathology, easy access through the large research service menu, improved collaboration and throughput of service requests, and significant cost savings through utilization of pathology shared resources.
The PCL logs submitted projects into a database, tracks requests, monitors research integrity, and lists publications resulting from these investigations.
