The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic M.D. Molecular Pathologist to join the faculty of our dynamic, growing, clinical laboratory team. While previous experience is a plus, we also welcome recent graduates of training programs who are looking for their first opportunity. Candidates must have, or be eligible for: New York State full medical licensure, American Board of Pathology Certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology, and New York State Certificate of Qualification. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and scholarly accomplishments.
This role will include patient service interpreting and reporting clinical molecular diagnostics tests that are performed primarily for solid and hematologic cancers and transplant engraftment, with growing applications in infectious diseases and constitutional genetics, using a wide range of techniques that includes (but is not limited to) PCR/Electrophoresis, real-time PCR, digital droplet PCR, and next generation sequencing. Consultations with clinical providers is also included.
This role will also include participation in strategic planning and management of sections within the division, and new assay development, working with our dedicated method development and bioinformatics teams. Current projects include methylation profiling, nanopore sequencing, paired somatic/germline sequencing, optical genome mapping, microbial pathogen sequencing, minimal residual disease testing, among others.
The new faculty member will participate in teaching our rotating residents and fellows, and will have access to data and resources for scholarly activity in translational research. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborative research with Pathologists, other physicians, and basic science investigators in the Department and the broader Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The Weill Cornell Medical College is located in the upper east side of Manhattan, in a biomedical complex that also includes the Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and the Hospital for Special Surgery. Assistant Professor Salary: $199,773-$319,292
Associate Professor Salary: $265,016-$357,283
Weill Cornell Medicine provides the above salary range in compliance with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
