The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic M.D. Molecular Pathologist to join the faculty of our dynamic, growing, clinical laboratory team. While previous experience is a plus, we also welcome recent graduates of training programs who are looking for their first opportunity. Candidates must have or be eligible for: New York State full licensure, American Board of Pathology Certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology, and New York State Certificate of Qualification. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and scholarly accomplishments.
This role will focus primarily on the interpretation and reporting of clinical molecular diagnostics tests that are performed for cancer, both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, using a wide range of techniques that includes (but is not limited to) simple PCR, real-time PCR, digital droplet PCR, and next generation sequencing. Consultations with oncology providers and participation in tumor boards is also included.
Interested faculty will have the opportunity to participate in new assay development, working with our dedicated method development team. Current projects include methylation profiling, nanopore sequencing, and microbial pathogen sequencing, among others.
The new faculty member will participate in teaching our rotating residents and fellows, and will have access to data and resources for scholarly activity in translational research. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborative research with Pathologists, other physicians, and basic science investigators in the Department and the broader Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The Weill Cornell Medical College is located in the upper east side of Manhattan, in a biomedical complex that also includes the Rockefeller University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and the Hospital for Special Surgery. Weill Cornell Medicine is part of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital system, along with the Columbia University School of Medicine.

Associate Professor Salary: $242,624-$309,688
