Academic Cytopathologist

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking an academic cytopathologist for full-time appointment at the Assistant or Associate level to join the current group of cytopathologists. The cytopathology team is composed of 6 FTE cytopathologists and nine cytotechnologists, headed by Dr. Momin Siddiqui. The service is a mixture of gynecological, non-gynecological, and fine needle aspiration cytology with active interventional radiology, thoracic, gastrointestinal, and thyroid services. Telecytology is available for assistance with rapid on-site evaluation. There is an ACGME-accredited cytopathology fellowship and ample opportunities for clinical, educational, and research activity.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine supports research initiatives through its strong translational research program. Collaborations are available within the Department, as well as with faculty from other departments at Weill Cornell Medicine, Rockefeller University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. An active mentoring program assures growth in the academic environment at Weill Cornell.

The successful candidate will have completed a cytopathology fellowship and possess strong diagnostic skills needed for an academic cytopathology service. An interest in a subspecialty area of surgical pathology or molecular diagnostics, in addition to cytopathology, can be supported. A strong commitment towards advancement of knowledge in the field through research and education is equally important. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology is required as is eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of New York. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with level of experience and scholarly accomplishments. Interested applicants should forward a curriculum vitae, statement of interest, and contact information for three references to:
