The results of U.S. News & World Report's 2019-20 annual "Best Hospitals" survey were released today. NewYork-Presbyterian is ranked #4 in the nation and #1 in New York. This is the 20th consecutive year NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is the top-ranked hospital in New York.
The Hospital also has been ranked in the top 10 in the following specialties:
- Nephrology (#2)
- Neurology & Neurosurgery (#3)
- Cardiology & Heart Surgery (#4)
- Gynecology (#4)
- Psychiatry (#4)
- Rheumatology (#4)
- Diabetes & Endocrinology (#5)
- Urology (#5)
- Orthopedics (#6)
- Geriatrics (#9)
- Rehabilitation (#10)
NYP also ranks highly—within the top 20 nationally—in Gastroenterology & GI Surgery; Ear, Nose & Throat; Pulmonology; and Cancer.
Thousands of U.S. hospitals were evaluated in this year’s survey, which is designed to help patients and their physicians make informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures. The specialty rankings assess hospital performance in high-complexity areas of inpatient care, from cancer to urology.
