The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Weill Cornell Medical College is seeking an academic hematopathologist for a full-time appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
The Hematopathology Division comprises 8 hematopathologists involved in a spectrum of morphologic, flow cytometric, immunohistochemical, and molecular diagnostic activities, as well as extramurally funded research. The hematopathology service handles more than 7,000 solid and liquid hematologic cases and 18,000 specimens annually, including a large consult service for second opinion consultation. The Immunopathology Laboratory, situated within the Division, provides excellent ancillary diagnostic services. A dedicated translational research laboratory supports academic research for all pathology faculty. Clinical and basic research collaborations are available with faculty within the department, as well as with faculty from other Weill Cornell Medicine departments. Department facilities, including faculty offices, sign-out rooms, conference rooms, gross dissection rooms, and histology laboratories, have been completely renovated and are thoroughly modern.
The successful candidate should possess strong diagnostic skills required to participate in a busy, high-complexity, state-of-the-art hematopathology service. Proficiency in Molecular pathology and cytogenetics is highly desirable. Equally important is a strong commitment towards the advancement of knowledge in the field, as well as other elements of an academic career, including resident education and medical student teaching. Formal training and/or experience in molecular pathology is desirable. There will be an opportunity to sign out molecular hematopathology with this role. Certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology is required, as is eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in New York State. Board certification or eligibility in Molecular Genetic Pathology would add to the strength of the application. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.

Associate Professor Salary: $261,289-$304,990
Professor Salary: $317,721-364,397
