Academic Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathologist

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Weill Cornell Medical College is seeking an academic gastrointestinal and liver pathologist for full-time appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank.

Ours is an active service with strong relationships with the Divisions of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Medical Oncology, and several divisions within the Department of Surgery, which includes an active liver transplant service. These clinical practices, our outreach laboratory services, and a robust consultation practice provide us with a large number of biopsy and resection specimens from the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system, which include a variety of inflammatory and neoplastic conditions.  The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine supports and facilitates research initiatives through its strong translational research program and fosters intradepartmental and external collaborations with faculty from other departments at Weill Cornell Medicine, Rockefeller University, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

The successful candidate will have completed a gastrointestinal pathology fellowship and possess strong diagnostic skills needed for a busy, highly complex gastrointestinal and liver pathology service. A strong commitment towards advancement of knowledge in the field through research and education is equally important. Responsibilities include teaching and mentoring medical students, pathology residents and subspecialty fellows.  Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is required as is eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of New York. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
