Congratulations to Selina Chen-Kiang, PhD, for being awarded an NCI Program Project Grant from NIH/NCI entitled: Mechanism-Based Targeting of Mantle Cell Lymphoma. The total federal award amount is in excess of $9 million dollars for five years.
This is the first NCI program project grant dedicated to investigating mantle cell lymphoma and to therapeutic targeting of CDK4. It represents a synergistic assembly of basic scientists and clinicians of complementary expertise in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (Selina Chen-Kiang, Jihye Paik, Giorgio Inghirami, Maurizio Di Liberto, Xiangao Huang), Medicine (Lewis Cantley, Peter Martin, John Leonard, Jia Ruan), Physiology and Biophysics (Olivier Elemento, Christopher Mason) and Biostatistics (Karla Ballman, Zhengming Chen) at Weill Cornell Medicine in partnership with Ohio State University. The goals are to determine the molecular mechanism that underlies differential clinical response to targeting CDK4, B cell receptor signaling, and the epigenome in mantle cell lymphoma by longitudinal functional genomics, in the hope of advancing mechanism-based cancer therapy.
