Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring

The Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Laboratory utilizes advanced instrumentation for the analysis of small molecules in patient samples.  We perform over 20 thousand tests annually using high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and tandem mass spectrometry. Our lab is accredited by both the New York State Department of Health and the College of American Pathologists.

Test Menu:

  • 25-OH vitamin D (D2 and D3) (tandem mass spectrometry)
  • Tacrolimus (tandem mass spectrometry)
  • Anticonvulsants (HPLC)
  • Antidepressants (HPLC)
  • Antipsychotics (HPLC)

The Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring laboratory is actively engaged in developing new assays of clinical interest.  In particular, we are developing assays that utilize tandem mass spectrometry to offer our patients and their clinicians the most sensitive and specific analyses possible.

Our laboratory offers the opportunity for interested medical students, residents and medical laboratory scientists to train on and learn advanced instrumentation.
