Please join us in congratulating Dr. Selina Chen-Kiang on receiving a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Mantle Cell Lymphoma Research Initiative Award.
Dr. Chen-Kiang is the leader of this multi-project award totaling $2.5M over 5 years, which includes three projects and three cores.
In addition to Dr. Chen-Kiang, this grant involves investigators at WCM and Ohio State University including Drs. Peter Martin, Jia Ruan, Kami Maddocks, Olivier Elemento, Lewis Cantley, Jihye Paik, Robert Baiocchi, Giorgio Inghirami, Chris Mason and Karla Ballman.
Over the next 5 years, these investigators will focus on developing new therapies for the treatment of mantle cell lymphoma. These therapies will be based on a better understanding of the molecular basis of this disease. In addition, they will define the molecular basis for resistance to pathway-focused therapeutics that are currently being used to treat mantle cell lymphoma.
Receiving large multi-investigator awards like this one is very challenging. These types of awards are critical to bring groups of basic science and clinical investigators with unique strengths and expertise together to focus on important problems in the biomedical sciences.
Congratulations, Dr. Chen-Kiang!
