Surgical Pathologists (NYP-BMH)

The Department of Pathology at Weill Cornell Medicine in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking several full time or per diem Surgical Pathologists certified in AP&CP by the American Board of Pathology for their campus in Park Slope, Brooklyn. A minimum of two years of independent sign-out experience and general surgical pathology skills suitable for community hospital environment are required. Fellowship training in subspecialty areas including Gastrointestinal, Breast and Genitourinary pathology and/or Cytopathology are preferred. The clinical work will be performed at NYP-BMH that holds 671 beds providing excellent patient care. The surgical pathology service at NYP-BMH is staffed with 6 pathologists, 3 PAs, 2 managers and 14 histology/cytology technicians covering approximately 18,000 surgical pathology, 12,000 GYN cytology and 4,000 non-GYN cytology cases annually.

Responsibilities will include general surgical pathology service with a focus on subspecialty areas, frozen section consultations, night and weekend surgical pathology call, tumor board coverage and other responsibilities associated with routine hospital based practice. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the level of experience and scholarly accomplishments.
