The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking an academic renal pathologist for full-time appointment at the Assistant Professor level to join the current two renal pathologists.
Ours is an active service with strong relationships with the Nephrology Division in the Department of Medicine. The immunofluorescence and electron microscopy laboratory resources needed for an integrated diagnosis are available as part of the clinical service.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine supports research initiatives through its strong clinical and translational research program. Collaborations are available within the Department, as well as with faculty from other departments at Weill Cornell Medicine, Rockefeller University, Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Modern facilities in the Department include faculty offices, sign-out rooms, conference rooms, gross dissection room, histology and electron microscopy laboratories with a digital EM scope.
The successful candidate will have completed a renal pathology fellowship and possess strong diagnostic skills needed for an academic renal pathology service. A strong commitment towards advancement of knowledge in the field through research and education is also important. The ideal candidate would have diagnostic interest in another area of Anatomic or Surgical Pathology, including autopsy pathology. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is required as is eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of New York.
